Nelson Mandela Day is tomorrow, 18 July!

The global celebration honours Madiba's life and legacy.

It encourages individuals, communities, and organisations to reflect on Mandela's values and principles by positively impacting their communities for 67 minutes.

The 67 minutes symbolise the number of years the former President fought for human rights and the abolition of apartheid.

Van der Westhuizen shares how you can spend 67 minutes through movement, donations and sharing your time with these events in Cape Town:

Western Cape/Cape Town

  • Mandela Day Beach Clean-Up Guided By Secret Sunrise

Help clean up the beach with a secret sunrise and prize giveaway after

Time: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

  • 360 Specialised Training

Enjoy a complimentary workout class at 5pm with sandwich making from 6pm. Sandwich donations like fillings and bread are welcome and sandwiches made will go to a charity in the area.

  • Light House Holistic Wellbeing

Immerse yourself in a 2-hour journey on Saturday, 20 July from 9am to 11am dedicated to women’s health and wellness. This event will  combine a yoga flow and an enlightening health and motivational talk, all in support of Rural Reach’s new Care Centre.

67% of ticket sales will go directly to this foundation which will help support Rural Reach's mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young mothers and their babies.

  • Hustle and Heart Cycling Studio

On Saturday, 27 July at 8:15am, the studio will be riding for TEARS Animal Rescue.

All profits and donations from this ride will be donated to TEARS.

Or pop by TEARS' pop up at Hustle and Heart in Sea Point Main Road to cuddle with or adopt a fury friend on Saturday, 27 July.

You can also donate and drop-off pet food, pet supplies, blankets and toys if you're in the area.

For the whole month of July, the studio is also giving Hustle & Hound customers free 'puppuccinos' with any coffee purchase by their dog mom or dad.
