Pippa Hudson speaks to 11-year-old trail runner Mackenzie Knott and her dad, Gareth Knott.

After summiting Lion's Head for her first hike, Knott's passion and love for nature inspired her dad to hike up every mountain with his daughter as the 'Chief Kit Carrier'.

At 11 years old, Knott (with her dad by her side) has taken on the 13 Peaks Challenge on Table Mountain to raise funds and milk for the baby rhinos at the Rhino Connect NPO.

The 13 Peaks Challenge consists of climbing the 13 most difficult peaks across Table Mountain and the Peninsula.

This pre-teen is an ambassador for 'Fit 4 Rhinos' with a mission to raise funds for orphaned rhinos.

As 'Fit 4 Rhinos' ambassador, Knott intends to attempt her fourth 13 Peaks Challenge to raise R15 000 for the rhino orphans as a part of the #rememberthemilk campaign.

How does she do it? With sweets, lots of talking up and down the mountain and wanting to show her dad that she can do anything.

How does her dad do it? 'We inspire each other' and he's happy to be part of this chapter in his daughter's life.

Knott plans to become a professional trial hiker and continue summiting the 13 Peaks before taking on George 6 Peaks and Kilimanjaro - what a list!

"I do it for the baby rhinos because I want to stop the poaching. I know it's hard for the little ones because they lost both their parents..."
- Mackenzie Knott

The public is invited to follow her journey that began when she was only four years old or donate to her campaign so Knott can reach her goal.
