Keanu Reeves has released his first novel… but he ‘didn’t write' any of it.
The 59-year-old actor teamed up with British author China Miéville for The Book of Elsewhere.
Inspired by the Reeves’ BRZRKR comic series, the book tells the tale of an immortal warrior who spends a millennia trying to understand his own immorality.
Speaking to BBC News, he says mortality has been on his mind.
“I’m 56, so I’m thinking about death all the time… I’m young old,” he said.
“Hopefully it’s not crippling, but hopefully it’s sensitised [us] to an appreciation of the breath we have, and the relationships that we have the potential to have.”
A lot of the book’s influence also came from the inspiring roles he has played – John Wick and Neo in the Matrix are pretty badass after all.
“I think it was influenced by some of the action films that I had done.”
The Book of Elsewhere is available this week.
