PICS: Online reactions to Team SA's Paris Olympics opening ceremony outfits

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics has come and gone... but fans are still talking about the Olympic teams outfits.

The South African team's uniform particularly has been a hot topic on the social media streets.

Each athlete wore a classic khaki blazer, female athletes wore theirs with a white round-neck top paired with dark green baggy pants with yellow graphic details.

Many wondered why Team South Africa couldn't hire a local designer to design something that reflected the country's 'rainbow nation' and 'diversity.'

Some appreciated that the team looks 'normal and ordinary.'

"If you look at the other countries...you're like why couldn't we hire a local designer to make our outfits... and must it always be khaki? Ours is very ordinary and I think there should've been more to it... it definitely wasn't sleek and stylish."

While some couldn't care less about team Mzansi's outfits (because it's how they perform on the field that counts), others are asking why did the South African team look like interns at FNB and why is khaki always the colour of choice?

A TikToker (@bouwerbosch) compared various teams' outfits which went viral on social media, causing fashionistas to share their opinions in the comments section too - watch the video below.
