Dam wall collapse leads to severe flooding near Malmesbury

CAPE TOWN - A dam breach has resulted in severe flooding to parts of Riverlands and Dassenberg, outside Malmesbury.
According to reports by the humanitarian organisation, Gift of the Givers, the collapse has led to the flooding of houses in the area.
The Gift of the Givers is in the area providing humanitarian needs to the affected residents.
The organisation's spokesperson, Ali Sablay, said that two people were missing.
"Gift of the Gives teams were called in the early hours of the morning by the residents of Dassenberg in Riverlands informing us that the Riverlands dam wall collapsed, destroying a number of homes and leaving thousands of people displaced. We were then called by the Swartland District Municipality and the local disaster risk management teams asking for our urgent assistance."
