State to oppose bail for Khayelitsha cash-in-transit heist suspects

CAPE TOWN - Only three of the five alleged cash-in-transit heist conspirators will appear at the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
The remaining two suspects are still in hospital under police guard.
The men were shot during a police raid at a house in Town Two on Monday.

Eight other gunmen were shot and killed in the takedown on Monday night.
One of the suspects in hospital is said to be in a critical condition after he was shot in the stomach.
The other one was shot in the leg and will need reconstruction surgery.
Four of the surviving suspects are from Western Cape, and one is from Soweto, Gauteng.
The State said that due to the seriousness of the crime, it would be opposing bail in this matter.
