Shivambu wishes EFF 'strength and prosperity’ after switch to MK

The EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu announced on Thursday that he would not renew his membership with the party.
He leaves to join Jacob Zuma’s Umkhonto Wesizwe Party (MK Party), which overtook the EFF to become the third-biggest party in the country in the 2024 national elections.
In a press briefing, he says he hopes this personal decision will not be treated as a betrayal of 'the struggle'.
He wishes EFF 'strength and prosperity'.

EFF President Julius Malema has stated that Shivambu will remain his brother regardless of his choices and will always be welcome to return.
Professor Ntiskelelo Breakfast says this resignation is a massive blow to the party.
