Car wrecked by fuel with 'heavy metal deposits'? Let Wendy Knowler know!
Consumers are complaining about car engine damage caused by dodgy fuel.

Knowler recently received several complaints from consumers whose cars were damaged by poor-quality fuel.
The fuel was allegedly contaminated by 'heavy metal deposits', which resulted in engine failure.

One manufacturer argued the damage was caused by ‘external factors’ and thus would not repair the car under warranty.
These heavy metal deposits would be consistent with rust.
The complainant in this case says he only fills up at stations of one major brand.
Knowler says this could indicate an issue with a service station's underground tank or pipelines.
She contacted industry stakeholders and now asks the general public if they have had this same issue.
