Probe under way into Department of Correctional Services building fire, confirms spokesperson

TSHWANE - Department of Correctional Services (DCS) says an investigation is under way into the cause of a fire that broke out in the West Wing Block of its head office in Pretoria.
 
The sixth floor of the Poyntons Building was affected by Sunday's blaze.
 
The department's spokesperson - Singabakho Nxumalo - said City of Tshwane Emergency Management Services responded promptly and fully extinguished the fire.
 
"An investigation will be launched to establish the cause of the fire. DCS can confirm that no injuries were reported, and all personnel present in the building have been safely accounted for. The safety of our employees and the security of our facilities remain a top priority."
