Whether at a function or sports event, you have heard Nkalakatha.
It’s almost been 25 years since the iconic anthem’s release.
To celebrate Mandoza’s legacy, the Soweto Theatre is hosting 'Nkalakatha – Road to 25 Years' on Wednesday (18 September).
“As a family, we are preserving the ‘Nkalalakatha’ legacy [and] it continues. We will have his two boys performing as Mandoza as well as a cast of 35 people.”
– Mpho Tshabalala, founder – Mandoza Foundation
“I am very proud of him [Mandoza] and that’s why I have to continue his legacy and celebrate this song. I call it South Africa’s second national anthem because everywhere you go, you hear it.”
