Rest in peace, Tupperware! Iconic company files for bankruptcy

US company Tupperware has filed for bankruptcy as it struggles to stay afloat. 

The food container company said it would ask the court for permission to start the liquidation process.

The 78-year-old company is a household name across Mzansi and the world.

Despite trying to revamp in recent years, it has failed to stand out in a competitive market.

“There are so many cheaper brands and alternatives… It looks like Tupperware just could not keep up.”
