If the second instalment of Netflix’s Monsters trilogy is anything to go by, Dahmer was just the beginning.

Ryan Murphy’s Monsters trilogy is back with a second series, spotlighting the life of Lyle and Erik Menendez.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story tells the damning story of two brothers who killed their parents on 20 August 1989 when they were 18 and 21 years old.

Nicholas Chaves takes up the lead role as Lyle Menendez, the eldest brother, alongside Cooper Koch as Erik Menendez.

The 10-episode series delves into the events that led up to the murder as well as the trial that followed.

During the trial, the boys cited years of abuse as the reason for murdering their parents, however, the prosecutor argued their motive was to get their hands on the family fortune.

In the end, both were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without a possibility of parole.

Dahmer was the first series in the trilogy about the notorious serial killer Jeffery Dahmer.

The series was a global hit, reaching one billion view hours in just 60 days

A third instalment in the trilogy has already been confirmed.

Charlie Hunnam will play the next monster, Ed Gein, known as The Butcher of Plainfield.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is available to stream on Netflix.
