Carl Wastie speaks to Early B who dropped by the studio for a catch-up.
So, what's new with Early B?
He keeps on winning, that's what.
Not only did Early B win Kfm 94.5's Best of the Cape award for 'Best Local Musician' he also became a Mystery Mic Hall of Famer for Usher's 'You Remind Me.'
Between all that, Early B also released a new single called, 'Madoda.'
Producer, Justin Vega sent Early B the backtrack before the musician added lyrics to it which is how the track came to life, explains the musician.
Meanwhile, the lyrics are an ode to Early B's younger days when he tried to pick up girls at house parties.
"It reminded me of the time when I used to go to house parties in Bloomingdale with my friends... so I went way, way back to my time going to house parties where I tried to introduce myself to girls."
- Early B
"In this instance, this girl was from Cape Town with green eyes and I wanted to talk to her... so when I write I always try to imagine the setting: we were at a house party, there's always a braai and a pot one side somewhere and that's how I played the whole thing out - hopefully sal die mense weet wat ek bedoel..."
- Early B
Early B also confirms that a music video for 'Madoda' will be out soon.
