Facebook often brings people and things together as it has for a couple and their wedding footage.
A husband and wife (now 77 years old) in Australia have been reunited with the long-lost video footage of their wedding in Scotland after it was found by chance 57 years later.
Aileen and Bill Turnbull married in Aberdeen in 1967 and later emigrated, without the film.
After the film was developed, the couple watched their wedding video once on a borrowed projector.
When they returned the projector, they forgot to remove the film and it wound up in storage at a coworker’s place. The couple emigrated to Australia, life happened and it was 'put out of their minds'.
However, 57 years later, the coworker who had the video footage all these years decided to do some cleaning, found the footage and posted a screenshot of it on Facebook for people from Mastrick, Scotland.
Five minutes after joining the Facebook page, Aileen, who grew up in Mastrick, saw the photo of herself and her husband.
“I was absolutely amazed, I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “If I hadn’t done it, there’s no way I would have seen the photograph Terry put in.”
