This weekend, the streets of Cape Town will be taken over by people passionate about running; elite athletes, weekend warriors and spectators.
With one year of solid planning, the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon has reached a record-breaking sellout of 21 000 participants.

Gardner says their focus now is on execution and problem-solving.

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is currently undergoing evaluation as a candidate to join the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors series.
One of the top criteria is ensuring that no vehicles are parked along the entire race route.
