Marine Drive bridge over FW de Klerk Boulevard in Woodstock set to reopen 7 November
The Marine Drive Link Bridge over the FW de Klerk Boulevard, Woodstock has been temporarily closed for repairs.
Graeme Raubenheimer speaks to Roberto Quintas, Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility.
The Marine Drive Link Bridge over the FW de Klerk Boulevard in Woodstock has been temporarily closed for repairs 'and pre-emptive maintenance work to better accommodate heavy vehicles,' says Quintas.
Initially the plan was set to take place from 4 November 2024 until Wednesday, 6 November 2024 between 7pm and 5am.
However, Quintas reports that the repair work being done during the night has been slightly delayed by one more day and will now last until Thursday, 7 November 2024.
Partial lanes are closed on Marine Drive Link Bridge (R27) for the full duration of the project.
Although the repairs are scheduled during the night, congestion can still be expected as traffic travelling in both directions will be affected.
Road users are urged to use alternative routes while construction is under way, exercise caution, lower speeds and pay attention to road signs.
