South Africa has not hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix since 1993, but that may soon change.
The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg has received approval to begin upgrades necessary for FIA Grade One accreditation, which is required to host a Formula 1 event.

The issue boils down to a practical problem: 45 buses that were leased to transport Rea Vaya passengers do not have the correct registration plates to operate in Gauteng Province.

HYROX is a global fitness competition that combines running and functional workouts.
Participants run a one-kilometre race and then complete one functional workout station, repeating eight times.
Making history in the sport is NPL athlete Vicky MacIntosh who became South Africa's first HYROX champ by winning the inaugural race held in Cape Town in September.
This win secured MacIntosh a slot in the 2025 HYROX world championships.
