DURBAN - Civic organisation SANCO in KwaZulu-Natal has accused the African National Congress (ANC) of destroying its relationship with the alliance partners in the province.

The ANC alliance partner penned a public letter on its relationship with the party, citing concerns about its current leadership.

SANCO said the party had also been taking decisions without informing them or consulting the alliance.

SANCO KZN secretary, Sizwe Cele: "Even in the formation of Government of Provincial Unity in KwaZulu-Natal before that decision was arrived at, SANCO, SACP and COSATU were supposed to sit with the ANC so that decision is arrived at as an alliance decision."

Cele added the ANC did not even give the alliance reasons as to why it formed part of the GPU.

"The ANC has never even taken time to take its alliance partners into confidence in terms of what led them to take such decisions, so these three alliances partners continue to remain in the dark."

The ANC in the province is yet to respond.
