The families of five children who died on Sunday after allegedly consuming chips from a local spaza shop in Naledi, Soweto, are looking for closure.

Ray White speaks with Makhi Feni, Chairperson of Parliament's Select Committee on Education, Sciences and Creative Industries.

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has suggested getting the army involved in shutting down spaza shops selling expired food.

He also lobbies for an updated register of snack sellers at schools.

Feni says spaza shops must be properly regulated so that it is possible to keep track of what is on the shelves.

He says this requires support from the Department of Health, immigration, and the business sector.
