On 947 Afternoons, Zweli Mbhele chats to the MasterChef South Africa finalists Nabila Shamshum, Chanel Brink, and Bridget Mangwandi.

After a grueling semi-final, three home cooks will be going head-to-head for the MasterChef South Africa title this Saturday.

From 20 home cooks we have come down to just three who will be vying for that R1 million prize.

All three contestants have shown immense growth as they were put through the test week in and week out.

Leading up to the finale, the trio will travel to different cities and visit Pick n Pay Stores.

"It feels great that in MasterChef now there is an all-female finale, which I don’t think has been the case before.”
– Chanel Brink, MasterChef SA finalist
“As someone who used to watch MasterChef all the time, I can remember being inspired by them and you don’t expect to be that person to someone else but it just happens.”
– Nabila Shamshum, MasterChef SA finalist
“Encouraging those, my peers especially, that when you have a passion to pursue it… It’s exciting to be part of this especially to be the youngest, it's really exciting for me to put my best foot forward through this journey.”
– Bridget Mangwandi, MasterChef SA finalist
