PICS: Truck overturns on N2, lands in Knysna Lagoon
Motorists are advised to be patient on this road and exercise caution while driving.
Truck over turned on N2 into the Knysna Lagoon
Tracey Lange speaks to Wyndham Ewerts, Editor of the Knysna-Plett Herald.
Earlier this morning (20 November), reports flooded in when a truck weighing around 25 tonnes overturned on the N2, and ended up in the Knysna Lagoon.
How did this happen?
Ewerts says there's a lot of speculation but according to what people have been saying on their Facebook group, the Knysna-Plett Herald, it seems like the driver was speeding and lost control of the truck.
He adds that the driver was the only person in the vehicle and has already been taken to hospital.
'At this point in time, no fatalities have been reported,' says Ewerts.
Two tow trucks and other emergency respondents are on the scene ready to lift the 25-tonne truck with officers in the lagoon trying to clear the scene which might happen by 1pm this afternoon, says Ewerts.
Motorists are being advised to be patient on this road and exercise caution while driving.
