Christmas lights displays make December nights a little more magical.

Get your friends and family together for a festive night out.

Here’s where you can see the best Christmas lights in Johannesburg and Pretoria:

Destination Christmas at Melrose Arch

Melrose Arch is hosting month-long holiday festivities alongside its stunning lights display that you definitely want to add to your gallery.

The display is open from 15 November 2024 to 9 January 2025.

Entrance is free.

Jakaranda Kinderhuis Liggiefees

This year’s highly anticipated Liggiefees is back.

Get ready for a fun-filled night of food, live music, rides, and twinkling lights. 

The display is open from 29 November to 23 December 2024, 6 pm to 10 pm. 

Tickets are R50 for adults, R30 for kids and pensioners.

Festival of Lights at Joburg Zoo

The City of Johannesburg’s Festival of Lights returns, bigger and better. 

The display features several life-size illuminated characters,  there will also be live entertainment, food and craft stalls. 

The festival is open from 5 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, from 7 pm to 10 pm (Thursdays to Sundays).

Tickets are available at Webtickets at R175 for adults, R75 for kids and R100 for pensioners.

Festive Lights at Time Square

Enjoy the displays as the garden comes alive with thousands of sparkling lights. 

Kids under 12 get free Candylicious popcorn and a slushy from 7.30 pm to 9. 30 pm every evening.

The display is open from 29 November 2024 to 2 January 2025 at the SunStar Plaza.

Entrance is free.
