An 11-year-old girl has been rescued after enduring three days clinging to inner tubes in stormy Mediterranean waters.
Rescuers from the non-governmental organisation Compass Collective were en route to another emergency when they heard her desperate cries for help.
The unnamed girl, from Sierra Leone, told the team that she had set off from Sfax in Tunisia with 44 others.
Tragically, their boat sank, and all the other migrants were presumed dead.
"Inner tubes; that's all she had to save her... no food, no water."
