President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered an address at the Reconciliation Day celebrations in Vredendal, Western Cape.

He announced plans for a 2025 National Conference to address South Africa's most pressing challenges through a national dialogue.

In addition, he revealed intentions to establish a steering committee composed of representatives from government, labour, business, and civil society to coordinate the dialogue.

Gadd believes the President's continued support for such an initiative is commendable and should be embraced by all.

She emphasises that the goal is to foster a shared vision of what it means to be South African, one that reflects the material realities of citizens.

Gadd adds that South Africa’s trajectory must be redirected over the next 30 years to avoid perpetuating the same issues that have persisted.

In this national dialogue, Gadd stresses the importance of prioritising the voices of ordinary South Africans, who must be central in shaping the direction of the country's future.

Although the date for the dialogue is yet to be set, according to reports, preparations will begin in the new year.
