Earth tremor hits parts of Johannesburg

Parts of Johannesburg experienced a small earth tremor on Tuesday evening (17 December).
Per social media reports, the tremor happened around 9 pm and could be felt in Soweto, Roodepoort and surrounding areas.

City of Johannesburg EMS reports that, while the Council of Geoscience has yet to confirm its magnitude, no injuries or damages have been reported.

Earlier this year Johannesburg was hit with three tremors.
The Council confirmed a 2.5 magnitude earthquake on 29 June and a 2.3 magnitude on 1 July.
In February, a 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the south of Johannesburg.
