CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are appealing to the public for information about the murder of a 48-year-old man at Nomzamo taxi rank in Strand.

The South African Police Service (SAPS)’s spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, said two men opened fire at the rank on Saturday, leaving him for dead.

But their motive remains a mystery for now.

"Preliminary information suggest that two unknown assailants arrived at the taxi rank and opened fire on the victim. The 48-year-old victim sustained gunshot wounds to his body and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested."
