According to the 2024 Profmed Stress Index, stress levels among South African professionals have risen considerably.
Financial uncertainty and workplace pressure are the primary reasons for increased stress.
The study defines a professional as a person who is reasonably successful in terms of running their own business in any career they choose.
Many professionals are suffering from fatigue, poor sleep and digestive issues because of stress.
According to the study women experience higher stress levels than men, mainly due to unbalanced expectations in the home.
