In an effort to curb the sale of counterfeit tickets, Stadium Management SA is introducing a new ticketing system.
This is after chaos erupted at the recent Soweto Derby, where the FNB Stadium was far beyond capacity due to counterfeit tickets.

Grobbelaar says the partnership has been in the works for over a season and they initially planned on implementing it next season.
“The Derby and what ensued there really left me and the clubs with no other choice but to make the decision to implement it now… we cannot have another Derby like we had. We estimated that there were about 20,000 fake tickets.”
– Bertie Grobbelaar, CEO – Stadium Management SA
There will be three avenues for ticket purchasing – on the website, via WhatsApp, and at USave, Shoprite and Checkers.
“It’s not foolproof, we are going to have challenges... but we are going to eliminate these challenges by at least 80%. Now we need to focus on the access control.”
– Bertie Grobbelaar, CEO – Stadium Management SA
