PICS: 947’s Anele and Frankie take on the Oscars

It was a star-studded affair at this year’s Academy Awards.

The very best in film and television came together to celebrate the year that was and the phenomenal projects that took audiences on a journey.

This year’s awards were extra special as South Africa was represented by short film ‘The Last Ranger’ in the Best Short Film category.

The cast took to the red carpet, including 947’s very own Anele Mdoda and Frankie du Toit whose production company worked on the phenomenal project.

While the film didn’t take home the coveted award, the cast celebrated nonetheless, raising the South African flag high.

“’The Last Ranger’ may have lost out on the Oscar, but I think that as a country, as a Continent, and as an industry focused on conservation, we've absolutely won," Mdoda reflect on the awards.
