Lady Gaga releases 7th studio album, 'Mayhem'

The album is being compared to The Fame Monster and Born This Way, harnessing darker sounds and imagery.

“I wanted to traverse old ground while breaking new ground, which I think is hard to do,” Gaga told Rolling Stone.

“There are a few moments on the album where some people might say, ‘Oh, that reminds me of this,’ because I do have a style, but I made an effort musically to push myself to a new place," she continued. 

While Mayhem comes close to her dance-pop roots, she says it was inspired by several artists from the rock world such as David Bowie, Prince, and Radiohead.

The album is available to stream on all platforms.
