Emergency services on high alert as Gauteng braces for severe thunderstorms

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 weather warning for severe thunderstorms for parts of Gauteng.
This may lead to localised flooding in susceptible areas, with damage to infrastructure, property and vehicles.

This follows heavy rainfall last week that caused flash flooding, affecting several roads, bridges and properties in the western and northern suburbs of Johannesburg.
