Will Smith to release 5th studio album 'Based on a True Story' on Friday
The album is Smith's first piece of new music in 20 years and features collaborations with artists like Big Sean, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, and more.
It's been 20 years since Will Smith brought fans new music - that's about to change!
Smith took to social media earlier this year to announce his fifth full-length studio album, Based on a True Story, for release on 28 March 2025.
The album has 14 tracks, including five previously released singles and nine new songs.
Smith told reporters that the album explores his post-slap introspection and self-examination.
The album's release comes three years after Smith slapped Chris Rock who hosted the 94th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on 27 March 2022.
The moment was dubbed 'the slap heard around the world'.
"I've taken the last couple of years to really do a deep dive on the parts of me that may or may not have been in that level of certainty and asking those deep scary internal questions,” said the Oscar and Grammy winner to reporters about the album.
How many days until Friday?
