The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will perform essential maintenance work in several areas, temporarily disrupting water supply.
According to the City, this work is crucial to improve the water supply infrastructure and ensure better service for residents.
On Tuesday, 1 April 2025, from 09:00 to 16:00, water will be turned off in Somerset Ridge, Westridge, and Garden Village (Somerset West) to install a control valve at Disa Street and West Street.
Additionally, a large part of Simon’s Town will have water supply disruptions on Wednesday, 2 April 2025, from 08:00 to 17:00 to connect new pipelines to the existing system.
Residents are advised to store water ahead of time and keep taps closed during the interruption.
Once the water supply is restored, it may look discoloured or milky due to trapped air in the pipes.
The City has apologised for any inconvenience and says it will do its best to reduce disruptions.
