News24 highlights the good news stories all around us
Every year on 1 April, Paul Herman switches the focus to 'stories about South Africans who inspire, delight and uplift.’

Instead of focusing on lighthearted April Fool’s Day pranks, Herman makes 1 April a day to celebrate the good around us.
This initiative started three years ago, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
This year they had around 21 amazing positive news stories to break up the heavy news that we are always hearing.

Herman says that the hard news we hear every day is important, but the happy news can complement it well.
“There are great stories out there that are generally newsworthy… and we at New24 are trying to tell as many of those as we can.”
