Some accidents have been reported, primarily caused by speeding on wet roads and drivers not maintaining safe following distances.
Spokesperson Obed Sibasa has urged motorists to look out for pedestrians forced to cross the roads due to rains.
“An earlier bumper bash on the N1 Malibongwe, vehicle on its roof in Menlyn on Garsfontein Road, accident on Impala Road... as well as the N3 in Modderfontein just to mention a few [accidents]. That's due to persistent rain.
Sibasa advised motorists and other road users to take it easy on the road freeways.
