The future of South Africa’s Government of National Unity (GNU) is shrouded in uncertainty, and the stakes for the nation's stability have seldom been higher.
Later today, the ANC's national working committee will face the crucial task of deciding whether to maintain the current composition of the GNU or pursue a change.

According to Breakfast, the ANC finds itself 'stuck between a rock and a hard place'.
If the party distances itself from the DA, he warns there will likely be pushback from market forces.
He further explains that letting go of the DA could create a shortfall, one that might require the intervention of parties like the EFF or MK to fill.
This, he suggests, could be perceived as 'a project gone wrong'.
If the ANC chooses to retain the DA, Breakfast warns that internal tensions could escalate, potentially leading to a rebellion within the party.
