Emergency numbers to call during the fire in Table Mountain National Park

Residents needing emergency services assistance during the Table Mountain National Park fire, are advised to call the City of Cape Town's Public Emergency Communication Centre.

The number there is (021) 4807700 or 112 (free call from all mobile phones). If you still have a landline you can also dial 107.

Jermaine Carelse, Spokesperson for the City's Fire and Rescue Services says currently the Tokai area is of concern as thick and dry vegetation is aiding the spread of the fire.

Other affected areas include Ou Kaapse Weg, Clovelly, Boyes Drive and surrounding communities.

Carelse says this fire is not contained and we urge the public to stay away from the areas in question.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and road closures remain in place," he says.

Closures include:
- Main & Boyes Drive
- Main Road, Lakeside
- Main & Clairvaux
- Noordhoek & Old Kaapse Weg/Boyes Drive
- Steenberg & Tokai Road near the Circle
- Tokai and Zwaanswyk

Donations in the form of water, energy drinks and bars, as well as non-
perishable items may be dropped off at Lakeside Fire Station.
