The Two Oceans Aquarium has an adorable update...

On 10 February, for the first time in 10 years, new chicks were born at the aquarium's African penguin colony.

Named Ember and Echo, the babies aren't so little anymore.

Over the past few months, they have reached many important milestones — their first shower on the Kelp Forest platform, hand-feed, and beach day.
The aquarium explains that hand-feeding is especially significant as it marks their transition from being fed by parents to eating whole fish, bones and all — by themselves — just like adult penguins.
This process also helps them build trust and form strong bonds with the aquarium's Penguin keepers, which is essential for their long-term care and well-being.
