Informal traders can register online with the City’s Economic Growth Directorate for upcoming limited trading bays for the Green Point Market located in the P4 parking lot next to the Green Point Athletics Stadium.

The City of Cape Town’s Economic Growth Directorate has made more trading opportunities available for trading on Sundays from June 2025 onwards, subject to the events schedule for the Green Point precinct.

Interested traders are encouraged to register on the City’s e-services portal to view and apply for available trading opportunities.

The trading opportunities are being managed by the City via the Informal Trading Permit System.

The City has held informative workshops with traders as part of preparations to pilot the return of trading to the P4 trading area in terms of the approved 2019 Green Point informal trading plan.

Please note:

  • The City will communicate directly with traders once registered on matters, updates or conditions related to their applications or permits.
  • Trading dates are subject to change based on scheduled events in the Green Point precinct.
  • The permit cost is R142 per month, subject to the annual increase. If there is no trading in a month, no fee is payable.
