Cannes cans 'nudity' and 'voluminous' outfits with long trains
For attendees, this year's celebrations have some new red carpet rules.

The Cannes Film Festival started on Tuesday, 13 May and runs until Saturday, 24 May 2025.
For attendees, this year's celebrations have a new dress code rule: no nudity.
"Nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as any other area of the festival," warned the organiser.
The decision, which will have a direct impact on the ever-growing ‘naked’ dress trend, has been taken 'for decency reasons'.
Earlier this year, Bianca Censori raised the stakes on barely-there frocks when she donned a piece of translucent netting to the Grammys alongside her husband Ye (Kanye West).
The 'nude dress' seems to be a favourite as stars such as Halle Berry, Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, Florence Pugh and others also donned barely-there frocks at various red carpet Hollywood events recently.
Most commentary online points out the irony in asking celebrities to 'cover up' on the red carpet while films nominated at the festival show 'graphic' and 'gratuitous' scenes featuring mostly women.
Some commentators are also concerned about the definition of 'decency' and what is and/or what isn't 'empowering' for women.
"A lot of celebrity women are saying they consider this empowering... 'If we want to show off our boobs in our see through dresses, that's empowering to us.' It goes back to this whole theory in history about the male gaze... When is it about that? When is it about empowering women? Where is the line drawn? What is appropriate? I don't have the answers, but I think it's an interesting talking point."
