The first-ever G20 conference to be hosted on African soil is set to take place in Johannesburg later this year. However, before South Africa leads the Group of Twenty in November, an important stop lies along the way.

Like the G20, the B20 Summit is a gathering of leaders from around the globe and is one of many engagement groups occurring before November. The focus will be on economic issues, and each invited country will have a business representative in attendance.

“The reality is that Africa remains the second fastest growing region [economically] after Asia."
- Crystal Orderson, Journalist

She emphasises the significance of South Africa being selected to lead such a globally influential event.

“It’s an opportunity for business leaders – not only from Africa, but in the G20 family - to talk about, specifically, trade investment and other economic issues that will ultimately influence G20 policy decisions.”
