Kaizer Chiefs' reserve team made history earlier this month when they won the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).
The Soweto giants walked away with a record-breaking 70 points, the highest ever in the league’s history.
This was the first time Amakhosi had won the league.
“History made, we did it, that was the thing that came to our minds.”
– Vela Khumalo, head coach – Kaizer Chiefs DDC
“We went game by game. At the beginning of the season, we just told them that you just don’t know what we can achieve… As we got mid-way, we started believing that we could make history here.”
– Dillon Sheppard, assistant coach – Kaizer Chiefs DDC
“Facing the best attackers in the league, we just took every game as it came our way, all we wanted was three points every weekend, and that’s what we fought for.”
