Dreams of soaring over heavy traffic are about to come true, and sooner than you may think.

Slovakia-based company Klein Vision has created the ‘AirCar’, the world's first mass-produced flying car.

The two-seater flying vehicle is styled like a sports coupe but with two retractable wings.

“The point is not to be in a little two-person aeroplane. The idea is that you are in a car that can fly.”
- Barbara Friedman

AirCar should be ready to go on sale in early 2026, but it will not come cheap.

It is expected to start at $800,000 (R14.3 million) but could go to $1 million (R17.9 million), depending on the specs.

“Imagine going along the N1 here and suddenly cars are taking off and crashing into each other.”
- Barbara Friedman
