CAPE TOWN - Feuding taxi associations CATA and CODETA are hoping to resolve their differences when they meet again next week.
Taxi operators from both organisations met on Friday to discuss a spate of violence and fatal shootings related to a dispute about a route in Somerset West.
The violence ensued a week ago after members of CODETA were ambushed by unknown gunmen in Mfuleni, killing four and injuring two.
Three CATA taxi drivers were also shot dead in separate attacks in Lwandle, near Strand, and Langa.
The taxi task team met on Thursday and committed to continued discussions.
CATA spokesperson, Nkululeko Sityebi, said that the feuding taxi associations met on Friday but could not resolve their differences.
"There's no resolution. We hope the meeting on Tuesday will have a positive outcome which certify from both parties that these things don't happen again."
