WC police arrest 67 suspects involved in murder-related crimes in the past week

CAPE TOWN - Police in the Western Cape have arrested 67 suspects involved in crimes relating to murder in the past week.
Crime prevention operations were conducted in hotspot areas since last Sunday, leading to the discovery and confiscation of 24 firearms and 371 rounds of ammunition.
An AK-47 assault rifle and a shotgun were among the ammunition that was also uncovered.
Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said crime prevention initiatives will continue
“The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape police, Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile, appreciates the efforts of the members on the ground who confiscated these firearms and ammunition and appeals to the public to work together with police to fight crime in their communities.”
