SAPS rescues kidnapped man in Germiston, arrests two

JOHANNESBURG - The SAPS national anti-kidnapping task team has secured the safe return of a 30-year-old victim who was found in Germiston, Ekurhuleni.
The male victim and his car were taken by a group of kidnappers on Thursday.
A day later, investigations led the police task team to an address in Germiston, where they found the victim being held captive by his abductors.

The victim's vehicle was discovered abandoned in Dawn Park.
Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk says that during the operation, officers arrested two kidnappers while others managed to flee the scene.
Van Wyk adds that this isn't the first such incident to occur recently.
"Just last week, police traced a Mozambican kidnapping kingpin to an apartment block in Fourways, Johannesburg. The suspect, linked to several kidnappings, was fatally wounded in a shootout with police."
