WATCH: Superstar Tyla shows up for Joburg teen who invited her to matric dance!

South African Grammy Award winner Tyla has fast become a superstar on the international music scene.

And when Joburg teen Mollwane Madiba started a TikTok campaign in February to get her to be his matric dance date, he could never have imagined she'd actually do it.

But Tyla made the matriculant's dream come true, actually showing up at the St. Stithians Boys’ College dance.

 5FM had stepped in to smooth the way for the singer's surprise appearance.

'I'll never forget it!' exclaimed an overcome young Mollwane, after he rocked out with Tyla.

'Tyla, we want to party!', he chanted along with his classmates.

Social media was on fire with praise for both Tyla, and the youngster who made the effort to get her to his dance.

'He really worked hard for this', read one comment.

'Tyla is such a lovely and benevolent human being', wrote another fan.
