Investigation underway after discovery of man's body in Natalspruit River

JOHANNESBURG - An investigation is underway into the discovery of a man's body in the Natalspruit River, near Palm Ridge.
Emergency service teams were called to the scene on Tuesday morning, where they recovered the remains from the middle of the stream.
Authorities said the man’s body was partially decomposed.
Ekurhuleni Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson, William Tladi, said that community members spotted the man’s body in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
"This morning, a rescue team from Emergency Services, in collaboration with the SAPS [South African Police Service] Water Wing and K9 Unit, managed to retrieve a body inside a water stream in the Natalspruit River, just adjacent to Palm Ridge Extension 7. So the call was received this morning at around quarter past eight, and all the teams responded swiftly to the scene for intervention."
