The City of Johannesburg recently launched a new campaign called the 'War On Potholes', which is aimed at fixing roads and improving driving conditions across the city.
The City says it forms part of its promise to prioritise infrastructure and get service delivery back on track.
The campaign includes daily pothole repairs, road resurfacing, shoulder cutting, and pavement reinstatement.
Crews from the Johannesburg Roads Agency will also handle verge maintenance to enhance the aesthetic appeal of roads and public spaces, and road markings to make roads safer and more pleasant to use.
Residents are encouraged to get involved by reporting potholes and damaged roads.
Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero stated that with the help of the public, the city's roads can be restored to what they should be: safe, smooth, and reliable.
"Our roads are the backbone of our city, and it's time we take action to restore them to their former glory. We believe that by working together, we can create a city that is safe, reliable, and well-maintained, and we look forward to partnering with our residents to make this vision a reality," said Morero.
