Region F carries the highest debt of City of Johannesburg - Sekwaila

JOHANNESBURG - Region F of the City of Johannesburg has been identified as the area with the largest debt in municipal services, owing R244 million.
The region consists of areas in the inner-city which forms part of a larger group of 1062 municipal accounts owing the city R1 billion.
On Wednesday, Joburg Water, public safety officials and city power embarked on a disconnection project of businesses that are either owing or connected illegally.
Acting Joburg Mayor Jack Sekwaila said: "This debt affects our ability to deliver services, it affects maintenance, it affects infrastructure roll out. We have analysed this data region by region, Region F carries the highest debt of City of Johannesburg."
